P.O.W.E.R YOUTH

We MUST be preparing the next generation to carry the light and hope of Jesus Christ into a culture blinded, lost and perishing.

HOW?

It starts with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From introducing youth to Jesus, to continuing with them on their life journey, we are passionate about encouraging this primary life relationship. The goal is to teach them how to love the Lord and be warriors to advance His kingdom on earth. We do this by sharing His love through service to others.
  • PRAY.  Communication is everything. Praise, confession, thanksgiving and interceding for others individually and corporately is emphasized. “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
  • OBEY. Youth learn that the rules and commands the Lord provides in the Bible are created for good. They are not meant to be punishments, but guidelines, to grow them closer with the Lord and the equip them to minister His love more effectively to others. “Jesus said, ‘If you love me, you will obey me.’” (John 14:15)
  • WITNESS. Gospel presentations are taught and produced through student-led skits, videos, and other means. Youth make adult guided decisions about projects, using the creativity and abilities the Lord has given them, and are encouraged to actively share their faith during both outreach events and individual conversations with friends and others. “Go into all nations…” (Matthew 28:1)
  • ENCOURAGE. Jesus encouraged believers and the lost. We reflect His light and carry the truth of His Word. Like Jesus, we strive to encourage youth to be the ones who support others through life’s struggles and battles. “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
  • REMAIN FAITHFUL. Resilience. The enemy of our soul is always trying to break apart our personal relationship with Jesus and our relationships with each other. We learn how to bounce back and remain faithful. We actively fight to do this through intentional Bible Study, meeting corporately, and engaging in opportunities that help youth see the fruit of their service to others. “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith?” (Luke 18:8b)
“BUT YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES ON YOU; AND YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES IN JERUSALEM, AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH”. (Acts 1:8 NIV)
